Lucas and his wife, Hanna both grew up in Arkansas where they met in college at Arkansas State University. As a college Freshman Lucas was confronted and convicted by the Lord, leading to repentance and faith in Christ. God also began to work a calling toward ministry leadership into both Hanna and Lucas. They served together in Arkansas before moving to Kansas City, MO in pursuit of seminary education. Living in Kansas City for 8 years, God saw fit to enable them to serve as volunteers in the student, counseling, and small group ministries of Antioch Bible Baptist Church. During this season, the Hickman family learned much about the beauty and generosity of Christ’s body. Lucas joined the pastoral staff in 2021, moving to the area with Hanna and their 3 children. When able, the whole family likes to spend time outdoors soaking in the sunshine or reading a good book. Hanna and Lucas see the family as a core component of God’s plan to disciple both the current and next generation. Their prayer is that God would see fit to raise up families at Cornerstone that honor Christ by growing in holiness together.
